About Duncan

Duncan Borrowman lives in Old Bexley, where he grew up.

He went to Hurst Infant and Junior Schools, Bexley; Cray Valley Technical High, Footscray and BETHS in Bexley. Duncan moved to North London as a student. Returning to live in Chislehurst from 1984 to 1999. Since then he has lived in Beckenham, Chelsfield before moving back to Bexley.

Duncan is one of the most experienced Liberal Democrat campaigners in the country, until summer 2007 he was the National Campaigns Officer for the Liberal Democrats, having worked for the party for 9 years.

He works as Campaigns Manager for a multinational company.

Duncan previously worked for 18 years in TV production and operations - for the BBC, TVam and numerous independent companies through his own successful business.

He has stood as a council candidate in Bexley and Bromley boroughs, and was a councillor for St Pauls Cray from 1994 to 1998.

Duncan was the London Assembly candidate for Bexley and Bromley in 2000 and 2004, coming second to the Conservative and pushing Labour into fourth place. He was also a London Assembly list candidate in 2000, 2004 and 2008.

Other experience includes:

* Governor of Chelsfield Primary School, chair of curriculum committee.

* Former governor Midfield Primary School, St Pauls Cray. Chair of Marketing (Ethos and Constituency) Committee

* Chair of the Green Liberal Democrats 2000 - 2002.

* Vice Chair (Campaigns) London Liberal Democrats 1998 - 1999.

* Agent/Campaign Manager for numerous council elections and by-elections in Bexley, Bromley and Lewisham - including the target wards that lost the Conservatives control of Bromley in 1998.

* Agent for London in the 1999 European Elections, winning first Lib Dem seat for London in the European Parliament.

* Agent for Orpington 1986 - 1998, taking it from a 10,000 Tory majority to a top parliamentary target seat.

He is married to Grace Goodlad, who is also a former councillor and has two daughters - the eldest is a Kings College Medical Student (at Guy's) the youngest is a pupil at Bullers Wood School for Girls.
