Duncan Borrowman challenges Mayor and Conservatives for action not words

11.40.50pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 6th May 2008

Old Bexley and Sidcup Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate has called for action not words from the Conservatives over Queen Mary's Hospital.

Duncan Borrowman said: "In the run up to the mayoral election we saw massive petitions and a march organised by the Conservatives. As a result Boris is Mayor, the Bexley and Bromley London Assembly member is a Conservative and one of the local Conservative councillors for the ward containing Queen Mary's has also been elected as a London-wide assembly member.

Now is the time for them to prove that it was not all an election gimmick and do everything possible to save Queen Mary's A&E and Maternity. Or else it is all just hollow election promises"
